Taranto is delighted to announce that it is supporting Blood Cancer UK as its charity of the year. Over the course of this year, Taranto employees will take part in a variety of fund-raising activities on behalf of the charity including a Grand National Sweepstake, fun runs, sponsored walks and other events.

In October last year, Taranto Technical Consultant, Michael Clarke, ran the Amsterdam marathon, raising over £1,300 for Blood Cancer UK. Michael plans to run another marathon this year to raise funds for the charity. Other Taranto staff may not be as ambitious as Michael in their running ambitions, but are just as keen to contribute to Taranto’s fund-raising activities.

As Taranto celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, the company’s annual summer party at its Liverpool headquarters, will also be a focus for fund-raising for the charity.

Dan Holby, Taranto’s Managing Director commented: “Blood Cancer UK is such a worthwhile charity and we are proud to be associated with the work that it does to support people affected by blood cancer across the country. We look forward to organising lots of fun events over the next year to support this important cause.”

Mairead Macleod, Regional Fundraising Manager said: “Because of partnerships like the one with Taranto Systems we exist to support the 280,000 people affected by blood cancer in the UK. Blood cancer is the UK’s third largest cancer killer, so we vitally need to raise money for life-saving research. We’re looking forward to working with Taranto Systems to help improve outcomes for people living with blood cancer including those living with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.”
